Ethiopia NYI Youth ministry workshop

Ethopia Central Church Of The Nazarene  has conducted it is first youth ministers work shop on August 23 2008 at the Addis Ababa District Center. In this full day Seminar there have been about 25 attendants from each Local Church. The purpose of the training was to introduce the Youth and Children ministers to the annual plan of the Ethiopian Church of the Nazarene for the year 2008/09 and to strengthen the spirit of fellowship.
The morning session has been opened by Prayer and Worship and word of encouragement has been offered by Abinet Ababu the Ethopia Central Church Of The Nazarene  Youth and Children ministry coordinator .In his message He emphatically talked about on the issue of ministry. According to Abinet,”Ministry is all about giving our will willingly to God; to be used by him to accomplish the great commission in this Generation.”Abinet in his speech illustrated the biblical and contemporary concept of ministry and encouraged the youth minister to know God and to know what the world thinks and speak to the world in this context.
Anteneh Addisu NYI Coordinator for the Horn Of Africa  made a speech on the Issue of How to teach youth to make them a life time disciple of Jesus Christ .Anteneh expressed the lack of priority to youth in Ethiopian evangelical community and encouraged the leaders to share this burden with those who have the heart for youth. Finally, the District coordinator introduced the annual plan of the ministry. In this four phase Plan, the district has planned to conduct a district wide youth evangelism beginning the coming September 5,2008.
The workshop was closed by the word of encouragement offered by the Assistant District Superintendent Rev. Tadesse Worku. The assistant  District Superintendent said “Let us keep what we have received from this workshop and pass it to our local church ministers. Many of the Attendants have expressed their delight because of this time of fellowship and training. They have also promised to put what they have learnt in to practice and model a life of ministry in their local church for the glory of God.
