
Kwazulu-Natal District NYI on the Southfield of Africa
Region held a sports day event on the 5th of July at Tongaat
(Hambanathi).150 Young people around the district attended this event as a
fundraiser to get money to help for preparation for a district NYI camp to be
held soon. The day started by young people being put into different team chose
randomly. The first event was relay race and then followed netball and
Volleyball where local churches teams played against each other ,The youth in
mission Team from the United States also played .as part of the participants.
The seven side tournament soccer matches took place by teams from local churches.
Then the groups went back to a local church nearby for a time of discussion on
major issues affecting NYI on their district and Kenneth Phiri (Africa NYI
President) encouraged the young people from the word of God and The day ended
up on a very high note with Young people having had fun in the Lord together
and for closure winning teams were awarded by trophies for taking part in the
days event. We would like to thank Pastor Vusi Thabethe (Kwazulu-Natal NYI
District President) and all involved for making this day a great success and
working so tirelessly for the kingdom of God.
