The NYI sponsored leadership training in
South.Eastern. district on the South Field 10 to 11 May 2008. The main purpose was to train and equip lay
leaders to effectively carry out their responsibilities in the local churches
and district offices. The training included seminars for local church board
members, to review their responsibilities as stated on the Manual of the Church
of the Nazarene. Other seminars were aimed at NMI, SDMI and NYI leaders. This
is part of the NYI involvement in supporting the district strategic plan for
church growth and development. The youth leaders believe that the success of
the mission of the church to Make Christ Like Disciples requires a new look to
the strategy designed by the district, thus they are promoting this seminars as
well as encouraging plans to monitor and evaluate the goals that each
department has set for this year.
I congratulate the youth leaders of SE
District for leading the way. NYI is an integral part of the ministry of the
church and should be involved in reaching out to the lost, discipleship
ministry and leadership development.
